    Reflections: Annual Benefit Fashion Show - MICA - April 17, 2010

    The runway was the centerpiece of Falvey Hall on Saturday, April 17, when MICA hosted the Annual Benefit Fashion Show, Reflections. The sold-out event featured 11 practical and outrageous collections in a wide array of disciplines, with designs as diverse as the designers themselves. Famed photographer and MICA alumnus Derek Blanks '00 was the celebrity guest and MC at the show, in addition to shooting a special series of photographs featuring the fashion.

    MEDIUMRARE: An Experimental Fashion Event involves more than 250 designers, models, and performers, representing a variety of concepts and skill sets, with work speaking to the performative nature of fashion and the merging of runway, stage, and gallery. The Experimental Fashion Event is directed, designed, and produced by the artists from the MICA Fiber Department’s Multi Media Event class.

    The 2016 Experimental Fashion Event is designed, directed, and produced by the artists and designers from the MICA Fiber Department's yearlong Multi-Media Event class. Together, they collaboratively transformed Baltimore's Lithuanian Hall into a venue for innovative fashion, costume design, performance art, and soft sculpture. This annual event featured individually crafted bodies of garment-based work exploring the intersection of fashion and art.
